The Print Club of Cleveland's 33rd annual Fine Print Fair (#FinePrintFairCLE) took place on September 15-17, 2017, at the Cleveland Museum of Art (@ClevelandArt). Before the weekend opening of the Fine Print Fair to the public, there was an opening night benefit preview, "A Prints of a Party," on Thursday, September 14.

While, as members of the Cleveland Museum of Art, Julie and I attend many events at the museum, we were not aware of the Fine Print Fair. Therefore, I was very pleased when Sarah Palagyi (@PalagsCLE) invited us to the "A Prints of a Party" preview by contacting me via the Column & Stripe (@ColumnAndStripe) Twitter account. Unfortunately, Julie had another commitment that night and was unable to join me.

Sarah, as a leader in both Column & Stripe and the Print Club of Cleveland, went beyond just inviting me to the benefit preview evening by taking the time to provide me with a wealth of information about both organizations. I greatly appreciate her sharing her insights about these affiliate organizations of the Cleveland Museum of Art. I hope to meet with her again in the near future to learn even more.

Here are my photos of, and information about the Fine Print Fair that I shared on Twitter with these 24 @sos_jr tweets/retweets:

Fine Print Fair Background Information

As background to the photos I shared in the tweets above, here is the official information about the "A Prints of a Party" and Fine Print Fair from the Print Club of Cleveland's website, which includes a video from the 2009 "A Prints of a Party":

The Opening Night Benefit

The opening night benefit preview, A Prints of a Party, Thursday, September 14, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., features catered hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and an opportunity to select great works of art on paper before the Fine Print Fair opens to the public on Friday. Fine Print Fair chairs urge you, “Not to miss this opportunity to view and purchase an exceptional selection of prints, drawings and photographs from knowledgeable dealers.”

I was very familiar with Column & Stripe, "The Young Friends of the Cleveland Museum of Art," from their good work at special events that I have attended at the Museum . I also was invited to attend as their guest, on May 23, 2016, the tour of ICA – Art Conservation (@ICAconservation), followed by their "Art Of Leadership" panel discussion at Transformer Station (@TransformerStat), where I learned more about Column & Stripe's work. (See photos in tweets here: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

I am grateful that Sarah Palagyi (@PalagsCLE) not only educated me about the work of the two affiliate groups in which she is involved, but also encouraged me to learn more about other affiliates, Here is the list with links for more information from the Cleveland Museum of Art's "Get Involved / Friends Groups" web page. Disclosure: I received an invitation to attend the Thursday, September 14, 2017, opening night benefit preview, "A Prints of a Party," which included admission to the event (ticket price $100, or $125 after September 7) and two free drink tickets. The invitation to attend came as a result of my support of the Cleveland Museum of Art via my @sos_jr Twitter feed and sosAssociates.com blog posts. I enjoyed the event, and wrote this blog to share my experience at the "A Prints of a Party" and the Fine Print Fair. The Fine Print Fair is a free, public event at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
