The cold and snow did not keep Clevelanders away from the January 15th Cleveland North Coast Harbor Ice Fest 2018 (#IceFestCLE - #CityMeetsTheLake), which featured ice sculptures set up on the walkway along the lakefront. This year, part of the fun was a scavenger hunt. We all won North Coast Harbor winter hats!

This was the second year that the Ice Fest was combined with Martin Luther King, Jr., Day events, which included free admission to the Great Lakes Science Center (@GLScienceCtr) and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum (@RockHall).

Tweets Leading Up to the BIG Day

Great Lakes Science Center

We started our day at North Coast Harbor by exploring the Great Lakes Science Center's current special exhibit. "All Aboard! The Science of Train," which is in Cleveland through February 19, 2018. We also enjoyed revisiting other exhibits we have seen in the past.

January 15, 2018, marked the fourth year of the annual Cleveland North Coast Harbor Ice Fest. We really enjoy seeing the ice carvings and the fire & ice tower every year. We have attended every year, and created our Ice Fest blog posts to share our photos of the creative ice works. Please retweet on Twitter any of our ice sculpture photos that you enjoy, so others can also see them.

On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2018, we were grateful to again be at a free admissions event at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. In August 2017, the Rock Hall hosted PechaKucha Night Cleveland Volume 3 (@PKNCLE), which we wrote about in the blog post: PechaKucha Night Cleveland Rocks!! A Night Featuring Creatives at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!

Last year, we noted in our blog post, 2017 North Coast Harbor Ice Fest and Free Martin Luther King, Jr., Day at Science Center and Rock Hall, how impressed we were that the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day "activities were a powerful way of tying the mission of the Rock Hall to what the day means to our nation." Again this year, the Rock Hall offered special programming related to music in the civil rights movement.

For our visit on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2018, we decided to focus on seeing parts of the Rock Hall we had not seen before. We explored the special Rolling Stone: 50 Years exhibit, and the new Power of Rock Experience multimedia show in the renovated Connor Theater.

Here is a video about the new Power of Rock Experience multimedia show:
