Largest Protest in United States History: No Kings Day 3

Saturday, March 28, 2026 - No Kings Day 3!

After attending the largest peaceful protest in the history of the United States -- the Saturday, March 28, 2026, No Kings Day 3 -- I thought it was important to create this blog post for two reasons:

  • First, and most importantly, to thank both the national and local organizers that made this historic event happen!

  • Secondly, to honor the millions of participants by sharing my photos/videos and those of others from the big day.

It is appropriate that this blog post, which starts my fifteenth year of blogging, is about the largest protest event in the history of the United States.

We showed up. And it mattered. Millions of us took to the streets for No Kings on March 28th and made it clear: we don’t do kings; not now, not ever.

But these days of action are not enough. Because the truth is: they’re not stopping. They’re still trying to rig the rules, suppress the vote, and sabotage our elections. So we’re not stopping either.

Ready to keep up the momentum?

The The success of the Saturday, March 28, 2026, No Kings Day 3 is not the end point, but only the beginning of putting more pressure on our current government to make our country better.

Artist-In-Residence Sylvia Munodawafa - University Circle New Community Room - Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel

Friday, March 7, 2025 - Painting from the University Circle artist-in-residence Sylvia Munodawafa's exhibition and the Cleveland History Center's Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel

On Friday, March 7, 2025, I was in University Circle attending the Stand Up for Science 2025 Rally at Case Western Reserve University. While there, I made a point of visiting University Circle Artist-In-Residence Sylvia Munodawafa's exhibition, and then, since it was right across the street, I rode the Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel.

I met artist Sylvia Munodawafa at the end of the Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) opening of their "2025 Student Independent Exhibition,” and she let me know that her artwork is being featured in the University Circle headquarters building.

Also, back in November, at the "Illuminate the Circle” event, I met University Circle Engagement and Outreach Manager Debbi Abela and Chief Engagement and Collaboration Officer Sheffia Randall-Nickerson. They told me about a new University Circle Community Room, which I also made a point of visiting. I learned that artist Sylvia Munodawafa and others are providing community programing in this new space.

I hope reading this blog post encourages you to contact University Circle to visit their headquarters, and to ride the Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel. Have fun!!!

March For Science Cleveland on Earth Day 2017

March for Science Cleveland - April 22, 2017

To celebrate Earth Day, most years, we attend the Earth Day Coalition's EarthFest, and have written blog posts about our experiences at the event the past two years.

Earth Day 2017 was different -- out of some very negative things happening in our country, a very positive movement to take action grew! We mean, of course, the national March for Science in Washington D.C.!

The same day that it was announced that the national March for Science would be held on Earth Day, April 22, 2017, we learned to our delight that there would also be a March for Science in Cleveland!

The good people of Northeast Ohio came out in force! Congratulations to the March for Science Cleveland for this grand success!
