Superman: From Cleveland to Krypton - An Exhibit
May 6, 2017 - March 31, 2018

Follow Superman's journey from his creative birth in Cleveland to his growing international popularity, his connection to social justice issues, his influence on the current superhero craze, and the pride our community maintains for its homegrown superhero.

Three floors of exhibits in the Main Library will feature memorabilia, art and artifacts from the Mike Curtis Collection of Superman Memorabilia and other prominent collectors.

After seeing tweets by @Cleveland_PL and @ClevePubLibFdn about all the excitement happening at the Cleveland Public Library, I toured the Superman: From Cleveland to Krypton - An Exhibit (#SupermanAtCPL) the day it opened on May 6, 2017. At that time, the exhibit was scheduled to be open until the end of 2017, but due to the large interest the exhibit, the date was extended to March 31, 2018.

When the closing day for Superman: From Cleveland to Krypton - An Exhibit came on March 31, 2018, I knew that I had to take my family for a final visit, and write this blog post to say how impressed I was with this exhibit. The exhibit not only told the history of Superman's creators, but did an excellent job of showing the Cleveland connection and how Superman led to the creation of other superhero characters.

In addition to attending the opening, I also visited this outstanding Superman Exhibit during the library's fifth annual Mini Maker Faire. Read all about these visits in these blog posts:

The library's web page about the Superman exhibit included some great photos and a very interesting Superman Q&A. I have attached the content of the Superman exhibit web page here as a PDF file for future reference.

Here are the photos from my visit the final day, followed by Tweets about the Superman Exhibit, and my tweets/retweets from the final week. It really was incredible how this very professional Superman Exhibit was made available for visitors to see for free, and it also points to the need for a permanent Superman Exhibit in Cleveland.

Superman Exhibit - #SupermanAtCPL Tweets - May 2017 through February 2018

Here is a sampling of the tweets about the Superman Exhibit (#SupermanAtCPL) exhibit, that I saw online after I attended on the opening day. I kept them, since they give a good overview of the exhibit and provide links to articles and a video about the exhibit.

Superman Exhibit - #SupermanAtCPL Tweets - Final Week

These are my @sos_jr tweets from my family's visit on the final day of the Superman Exhibit (#SupermanAtCPL), and others that I retweeted the final week.
